Light Pollution Reflection / Refraction Number 17

I guarantee my reflections and refractions will create controversy and confrontation; and quite likely I'll step on many toes, but it's time to be brutally honest.

ACT NOW!

Astronomers (and nonastronomers, too), now is the time to act! Not tomorrow, not next week, not next year! NOW! TODAY!

Don't wait for me or anyone else to tell you what to do! Just do it! Turn off some lights, permanently!

You will not receive this moment in time again! Our opponents, the SOBs (Satans of Brightness), are on the ropes fighting for their lives!

Now's the time to act, to force the SOBs to turn off their lights, permanently! They're spending millions of dollars on lighting up your night sky every single night! Now's the time to strike! And NO, not with a law!

Use money against them! Not your money! Their own money and their own self-destructive addiction to money! Use it against them! STRIKE NOW! Make the SOBs listen!

Astronomers, this is our golden opportunity, a brief moment in time, a wide open door through which we must rush, full speed ahead, to act! The Powers-That-Be (PTB) and the SOBs are struggling to survive, to find ways to cut costs, to maximize their profits! NOW is the time to act, to press forward with all possible dispatch!

No, I'm NOT crazy, and NO, I'm not talking about using the same old ways we've been using, the strategies that haven't, don't and won't work!

We need to ACT now with a whole new set of actions. Are you all so deeply brain washed by the PTB that you can't figure out what to do? You don't need me or anyone else to tell you what, where, when, why, or how to do it! Just turn off the SOBs *^_+~` lights! Permanently!

Have you become serfs and servants to the PTBs, the dark sky orgs and the bureaucratic, inefficient astro-orgs, all of whom you pay money to do what you should be doing? Do it yourself! Do what needs to be done! DO IT NOW! Turn off the lights, permanently!

YOU have the power, the authority, the ability to turn off lights...permanently! Tell the light pollution authority(ies) to stuff it, and become your own dark sky authority! Astronomers: what the hell are you waiting for?

Are you as pigs and chickens, cattle and sheep, shivering in fear in the corporate industrial factory farm setting, too paralyzed to act!? Unable to fight back!?

Have you forgotten how to rise up and claim liberty from light pollution, to revolt, to rebel, to rail against the PTBs and the SOBs who've stolen YOUR starlight? Your Milky Way?

Are your brains so fried you've forgotten how to rise up and resist!? For god's sake, rise up, form an insurgency and take back YOUR night sky full of stars from the SOBs!

You don't need a leader, YOU are the leader! Rebellion and revolution are in your genes, a part of your DNA! Freedom and liberty are in your soul.

Free the Night From Wasteful Light!

Astronomers, don't let this time, this opportunity, pass because you're too busy sitting about amongst yourselves yammering about whether or not to do this, or this, or that or whatever! Just act! Do something, anything, NOW! Turn off the lights--permanently!

The SYSTEM is broken! The System that keeps light pollution alive, that keeps your sky blazing in light pollution, is falling apart before your eyes. NOW is the time to take advantage of it's demise before it's too late, before the SOBs and the PTBs restore THEIR system and become even more powerful!! DO IT NOW! Turn off the lights...permanently!

The PTBs are scrambling about like ants trying to restore their little anthills! They are scurrying about trying to restore their castles! Their kingdoms! Their empires! Step up! Turn off the lights...permanently!

Ignite the Dark Sky Revolution!

Don't pay any attention to that man--those men--behind the curtains! And almost all of them are men, you know! The editors of the astroglossies who you pay to kill the night sky through their lack of attention and inaction!! Or the men in the upper echelons of dark sky orgs whose arrogance is noted in calling themselves the light pollution authorities as dark skies continue to fade in light pollution! Or the astro-orgs, based on bloated bureaucracies, hierarchies and endless chains of command, and for the most part controlled by men, who can't / won't move fast enough to seize the moment, carpe noctum! And of course, locally, the GIs, the PTBs-- MEN again--controlling your community for those whose only purpose is to develop more and increase nighttime lighting.

ACT NOW! Stop reading this R and R now and fight for dark skies!

Are you still reading? Damnit, I told you to stop reading and do something! Alright, I'll stop writing--YOU do something--NOW! Then e-mail me telling me you've done something to kill a light permanently, anonymously, of course, as I don't need to know...I don't do well with waterboarding and other techniques of government / military torture!
